Contribution of continental-scale ice dynamics processes to freshwater fluxes
This dataset provides spatially and temporally standardized freshwater fluxes from Antarctic ice shelves, together with ice-shelf integrated estimates. It combines five complementary products: a GeoPackage of ice-shelf calving fluxes, two CSV tables of integrated basal melt rates and associated uncertainties, and two gridded NetCDF products containing spatially distributed calving and basal melting rates. The gridded products use the BedMachine v3 Antarctic grid in polar stereographic projection (EPSG:3031) at 500 m pixel size. The dataset was produced in support of OCEAN ICE Deliverable D3.1.

- Supplemental Information
- The 500 m spatial resolution and EPSG:3031 reference system apply to the two gridded NetCDF products. The collection also contains vector (GeoPackage) and tabular (CSV) products. Temporal coverage varies among files; integrated basal melting rates include 1992 and 1994–2017.

- Statement
- Freshwater flux products were assembled from open-source Antarctic ice-shelf datasets. Ice-shelf boundaries and naming follow Mouginot et al. (2017). Calving fluxes use ice-front position changes and steady-state flux information based on Greene et al. (2022), with associated uncertainty estimates. Basal melt rates and uncertainties are based on Paolo et al. (2023). Spatially distributed calving and basal-melt fields were standardized onto the BedMachine v3 Antarctic polar stereographic grid (EPSG:3031) at 500 m pixel size. Ice-shelf integrated values and their uncertainties are also provided as tabular products.
