OCEAN ICE - Pan-Antarctic near-bottom pressure record

This near bottom pressure record timeseries compilation is extracted from the OCEAN ICE Southern Ocean mooring compilation ( https://www.seanoe.org/data/00887/99922/). The pressure records are measured by the deepest instruments on each mooring that sit within the 50 meter above the sea bed.

The creation of this compilation is endorsed by Ocean-Cryosphere Exchanges in ANtarctica: Impacts on Climate and the Earth System (OCEAN ICE) project. OCEAN ICE is a new Horizon Europe project, funded by the European Commission and UKRI. The project started on the 1st of November 2022 and will run for 4 years until 31st October 2026. Users are asked to make sure to refer the individual mooring timeseries to the original owner and database. This information is provided in each individual NetCDF file.

The dataset is extracted from the OCEAN ICE Southern Ocean mooring compilation. Near-bottom pressure records were selected from the deepest instruments on each mooring located within 50 m above the seabed. The resulting records were standardized to provide a pan-Antarctic compilation of near-bottom pressure time series.
